About Karen & The Dolans

They performed with their 'Uncle Joe' for over 20 years and now Adrian and Ray Dolan are carrying on their family's great showbusiness tradition with their new group Karen and The Dolans.

Featuring outstanding Dundalk singer Karen Carroll on vocals, this five piece band make their way around the country playing dances, cabaret and theatre shows. They released their debut album in 2011, were voted Best Country Pop Act at The Sunday World Music Awards 2012, and earlier this year Karen was voted Best Irish Female Singer at The Leinster Entertainment Awards 2013. Their original single 'Pray' spent eight weeks on RTE's National Playlist Charts.

Both Adrian and Ray admit that it's like starting out again in some ways. We did think it was the end until we met Karen and heard her voice, so now it's a new beginning. There's a new energy now. We're back on the road and it's as exciting as ever. We've been breaking new ground, and taking on new fans

Following the success of their critically acclaimed single ‘Pray’, Karen and The Dolans’ musical evolution continues with the release of the bright and infectious song, ‘Make Me Act The Fool’

A good uptempo song with a retro sounding brass section mixed with twangy guitars and a chirpy vocal – definitely all the necessary ingredients of a catchy tune that is sure to put you in a good mood.

Written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood, the multi-million selling songwriting duo responsible for hits such as ‘The Air That I Breathe’, ‘ When I Need You’ and of course ‘Make Me An Island’ and ‘Good Looking Woman’, which were hits for their Uncle Joe.

Continuing the musical tradition Adrian and Ray Dolan and Karen Carroll formed their five piece band over 4 years ago and it’s no relevation that hard work pays off as they are entertaining a whole new generation of fans travelling up and down the country.
